Rights & Permissions Policy
Thank you for your interest in the work published by Dillinger Publishing and its imprints.
Dillinger Publishing serves as the central publishing home for our catalog, including titles, creative properties, and related materials released under Dillinger Publishing and its affiliated imprints. Unless otherwise stated, all written material, artwork, excerpts, characters, settings, concepts, designs, logos, imprint names, series material, worldbuilding content, and related creative works appearing on this website are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.
No material from this website, Dillinger Publishing, or any Dillinger Publishing imprint may be reproduced, distributed, adapted, translated, performed, displayed, republished, licensed, sold, or used commercially without prior written permission.
Permission Requests
Permission is required for any use beyond brief, properly attributed quotations for review, commentary, scholarship, news coverage, or other legally recognized fair use purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, excerpts in books or articles, classroom or training materials, podcasts, videos, websites, blogs, newsletters, social media campaigns, stage or screen adaptations, audio productions, merchandise, derivative works, and promotional materials.
To request permission, please contact Dillinger Publishing with the following information:
Your name or organization
The title, imprint, series, author, artwork, excerpt, or material you wish to use
A description of how the material will be used
Where the material will appear
Whether the use is commercial, educational, nonprofit, journalistic, or personal
The expected publication, release, or distribution date
The format, territory, language, and duration of the requested use, if applicable
Each request will be reviewed individually. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval, and permission is not granted unless confirmed in writing by Dillinger Publishing or an authorized representative.
Acceptable Limited Use
Brief quotations may be used for reviews, articles, academic discussion, news coverage, or commentary when properly attributed to the author, title, imprint, and publisher. However, substantial excerpts, full chapters, unpublished material, cover art, interior art, logos, series bibles, worldbuilding documents, character material, adapted content, merchandise, or derivative uses require written authorization.
Imprints and Catalog Rights
Dillinger Publishing may publish work under multiple imprints, each with its own editorial focus, audience, and creative identity. Rights and permissions requests involving any Dillinger Publishing imprint should be directed through Dillinger Publishing unless a specific title, author agreement, or rights notice states otherwise.
Use of an imprint name, logo, series name, character, fictional setting, cover image, or associated branding is not permitted without prior written approval. This includes promotional use, merchandise, adaptations, derivative works, fan productions intended for distribution, and any use that may imply endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship, or authorization.
Adaptation, Licensing, and Subsidiary Rights
Requests involving film, television, streaming, stage, audio drama, audiobook, game, graphic novel, translation, anthology, educational licensing, merchandise, or other subsidiary rights should be submitted as formal rights inquiries.
Please include as much detail as possible about the proposed project, including production format, intended market, distribution method, timeline, territory, language, and whether the request concerns exclusive or nonexclusive rights.
Dillinger Publishing reserves the right to decline any request, request additional information, negotiate specific terms, or refer the inquiry to the appropriate rights holder, author, agent, artist, or representative.
Author, Artist, and Third-Party Rights
Some materials published, displayed, or referenced by Dillinger Publishing may involve rights held by authors, artists, contributors, estates, licensors, or third-party partners. Permission from Dillinger Publishing does not automatically grant rights controlled by another party unless expressly stated in writing.
Where applicable, Dillinger Publishing will identify whether a request must be directed to another rights holder or whether additional permissions are required.
All Rights Reserved
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Dillinger Publishing, its imprints, authors, artists, creators, licensors, or other rights holders as applicable.
